MindChamps began in Sydney in 1998 as an educational research initiative rather than a traditional childcare provider.
Its founder, David Chiem, recognised a gap in conventional education systems—while they focused heavily on what children learn, they often overlooked teaching children how to learn. Skills like confidence, creativity, resilience, and a strong sense of individuality were not being fully developed.
With a vision to change this, he collaborated with leading specialists across education, psychology, neuroscience, and the arts to build a completely new approach from the ground up, rather than simply improving existing models.
What started as a research-based project has since expanded into a global network of early learning centres across Australia, Singapore, the United States, and beyond. Despite this growth, the core purpose remains the same: to equip children with the mindset and abilities they need to thrive and reach their full potential.
