Education and Learning
Education and Learning is so important to our children. Not just for their long term benefit, but to also promote self esteem, encourage interests, and grow as people.
Kids Educational Games
Kids educational games can take the form of many things. Whether it's pure learning games, or something a bit more subtle, kids can benefit from many games. From babies learning to count with This Little Piggie and Once I caught a fish alive, to older children playing games which encourage the use of real world physics and world building, kids educational games are important.
School games often take the form of learning, whether your children realise it or not. Many school games for kids encourage the use of critical thinking, which involves learning lessons surrounding cause and effect, and turn taking.
Kids educational games are also often fun. We don't want to bore our children to death - that would be considered a poor learning outcome.
Kids Craft Ideas
Kids craft ideas are important too. Please don't underestimate the importance of art and craft in learning. A child working with clay for instance, learns structural integrity. They learn to build and sculpt. They get to talk about firing and glazing, about the process clay goes through when it's heated above 1000C. All of these things, while fun, are also incredibly educational.
The same with cutting and pasting for a toddler, and playing in sand for a baby. Babies learn by touching and feeling. Toddlers learn by also doing. It's all important.
Cutting and pasting. Take some high contrast paper and encourage your child to cut it into shapes. Glue them to make new shapes. Talk about what you're doing, about what they're making.
Sticktape two icy-pole sticks together in a cross and using wool, create a spider web. Talk about spiders, about how they make their web, about their usefulness in the world.
Colour some paper using white crayons, then paint the paper with water based ink to show the magic hidden picture.
Melt down old crayons to make new crayons! (Adult help required. Also, use an old pot, because you don't want to use your brand new cookware TRUST ME ON THIS)
Paint concrete with water! Best done on a hot day.
Colour on concrete with chalk. Messy, and a lot of fun.
See? Learning through kids craft ideas! Perfect!
Art Projects for Kids
Art projects for kids are also incredibly important. Feeling like they can achieve something is critical to success later in life. Art projects for kids allow the kind of self esteem building that often straight learning lessons don't deliver. Learning games for kids are fun, but different things work for different children (and different babies, if your child is only very small). Everyone learns differently and that's okay, you know?
In Australia, (Sydney and Melbourne in particular), there is a lot of pressure on children to succeed. Sometimes giving children access to art projects for kids, or learning activities, is really important.
Children need to feel like they can achieve what they set out to go. Learning to work through problems using kids educational games, or other learning opportunities is of benefit to children as they grow older.
